Broughton Reigns At Masters

Tulsa, OK, July 16 – Kicking off the 65th National Championship Appaloosa Show for the Reiners was the Masters Non-Pro Reining Class today at 1pm.  Five – “more mature” – contestants faced off with ApHC Pattern 2 and after the last slide was completed, Robin Broughton (Wadsworth, Illinois) aboard ANB Silver Dun It, brought home the National Championship with a 201 1/2, making this her first National Championship.  Trailing Broughton by only  1 1/2 points was Reserve Champion, Jane Cairo (Miami, Florida) aboard Viejos Tattoos.  Broughton and Cairo both serve on the ApRHA Board as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, and both winning horses were sons of Cairo’s World and National Champion stallion, Tattoos Dun It.  Rounding out the rest of the Masters field were (3)Elizabeth Frisch (Grovespring, Missouri) riding Al B Cody O Lenas, (4) Sheri Shaw (Tolar, Texas) aboard Duntattooedavaquero, another Tattoos Dun It offspring, and (5) Nick Kinsch (Ponca City, Oklahoma) riding Reason To Gossip.  Catch all of the exciting Reining still to come by logging on to the webcam here.
