About Us
The Appaloosa Reining Horse Association (ApRHA) is an affiliate of both the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) and the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). Membership in the NRHA is required for participation in events which are judged by NRHA judges, such as the ApRHA Futurity and ApRHA Derby. Members of the ApRHA are also required to hold membership in the ApHC if you intend to compete in these ApHC hosted events. THERE IS NO QUALIFYING REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ApRHA FUTURITY or DERBY AT THE ApHC WORLD SHOW!!!
The ApRHA is an International Association with members throughout the United States and Canada and our annual membership meeting is held during the World Championship Appaloosa Show in Ft. Worth, Texas, in October.
The ApRHA exists to promote and encourage:
- The breeding and showing of Appaloosa reining horses
- The development of standards of performance and judging for all reining horse contests sponsored or approved by the Association
- And to develop and distribute information that will provide contestants and spectators a better understanding of the proper reining horse performance in the show arena.
